Sareem Poem’s recognizes the revolution is love, the medium is poetry & beats. His music & message resonates with humanity through his ability to express all of life’s beauty & ugliness. As a member of L.A. Symphony receiving the recognition of hip-hop group of the year from L.A. Times. Led to national tours sponsored by the NBA, performing in Europe, Asia & sharing the stage with legends as diverse as Public Enemy, De La Soul, P.O.D., Ice Cube & Good Charlotte. In recent years Poems partnered with SAG Actor Richard Jewell creating a Grant program for Detroit Middle School youth, ‘Creating Critical Literacy Through Hip Hop & Dramatic presentation”. Teaching the youth how to write poetry & allowed them to create their own stories that were produced & filmed. He created original poems for Detroit Presbyterian Church projects, Abound In Hope & Hopeful Youth. Abound in Hope: a collaboration between Detroit residents & the Presbyterian Church to help breathe life into the idea of community through art & urban gardens. Hopeful Youth: a film & creative writing program developed by Richard Jewell & Sareem Poems working with the youth to explore their minds through story-telling, writing & Short Films.

 

His new evolution teams him with indie label Illect Recordings. Home to his latest work " A Pond Apart " Sareem Poems is currently the Community Engagement Director, Teaching Artist & Event Planner for All of the Above Hip Hop Academy located in Lansing and Grand Rapids, MI.
